Harvard suspends 60 students for exam malpractices

Authorities at Harvard University have suspended at least  60 students and others disciplined, following a mass cheating scandal at the highly fancied institution.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Michael Smith told staff and students at the university near Boston that more than half of the cases under investigation ended with students being required to withdraw from the college for a period of time.

“Of the remaining cases, roughly half the students received disciplinary probation, while the balance ended in no disciplinary action,” he said in a campus-wide email.

The dean described the scale of the cheating incident  as unprecedented, adding that reforms were being drawn up to promote academic integrity and a deeper understanding of expected standards within our community.
